Just chatting

Good afternoon everyone. I am sorry I have not written anything since Saturday but Bob & I have been away for a couple of days. Back in January Bob celebrated a "large" birthday & his present from me could not be given to him until this last weekend.  I bought him a special one-day tour on a heritage steam train. On Sunday we drove up to York & stayed overnight then early on Monday morning we took a taxi to York Station where we boarded this special train.  It took us from York to Carlisle & back again providing us with breakfast on the outward trip & a 4-course meal on the homeward trip with just over 2 hours stop over in Carlisle. The first part & last part of the journey the train was pulled by a diesel engine (an old one) then  it changed over to a steam train.  Because of recent weather conditions & the dryness of the landscape around our journey the steam engine wasn't in full steam.  Some of the work was still done by the diesel

Update club pages

Good afternoon everyone. Just popping in to let you know I have updated the club pages for Mold & Mold II clubs for their August meeting. Also the Project Photo page with photos for the Mold August meeting. I will update CSNW page after their meeting next Wednesday & I know what they will be doing. I hope your weekend is going well. 'Bye.

Mold II photos - part 2

Good morning everyone - another sunny very warm day.  BUT - promised rain & storms?  Now, I am not looking forward to that. This morning I have the photos from the Mold II project created on Tuesday & it is a card called the Shelf Card brought to them by Carolyn. I believe Carolyn took papers etc to the meeting for them, but the ladies took their own card,  So, as Carolyn said in her email with the photos the cards will all look the same. Lovely cards ladies. As they are all more or less the same I decided not to write comments, but they all look fabulous. As all those photos are face on I thought I would show the sample photos that Carolyn sent me when she said about making this card. The first one shows the side view & so you can see why it is called the Shelf Card I must talk to Carolyn & get the instructions for this one - I really want to make one of these. A big thank you to Carolyn for showing the ladies how to

Good evening everyone. I was sad not to make it to the Mold II meeting on Tuesday after all. I had had a rather "bad" day & was very tired. Yesterday I had an appointment with the Lyphoedema nurse to check how my arm was doing with the compression sleeve. I was very pleased to hear that my arm has gone down so I am obviously doing what I am supposed to do to help that.  I still have to wear the sleeve but the nurse doesn't want to see me for 6 months.  Then today I have been to see the Oncologist.  It was a return visit from last week & happily my blood reading was good & I have been able to have my next month's medication. Right! now to photos & crafting. Todays photos are of  the Show & Tell at Mold II club meeting where the card was to be a Christmas version of The Impossinle Card. A nice festive green for Elma's card. I think the background is either script paper or an embossed sheet. A colourful snowflake background

Good morning everyone. Today I have a member showcase for you & it is from Sheelagh of Mold club.  Unfortunately Sheelagh was not at the meeting when Rachel showed the flower pot card, but Sheelagh did find something very similar.  She made the cards & sent me a photo. They are really lovely Sheelagh & so different to Rachel's design. I think they would make another great project for the club. Tonight is the July meeting of the Mold II club & I am looking forward to being there - so before I get lost in things to do here I had better put my box ready. Have a nice day More tomorrow 'Bye for now.

Good morning everyone This morning I have the photos from the Mold meeting on Thursday evening & they are of the evenings project.  The card was the fold flat pop-up box style card.  Don't have a proper name for it. In most cases the front & the back of the card have been shown. This is the sample one I placed on the projects photo page. It gives a good view showing slightly from the side so that the "box" parts can be seen better. The front & back views of Clare's card. I think the layered look on the front really makes this a very elegant card. This is the front & back views of Janet's card. The name card wasn't in the photo but I remember Janet having to hold it up as the glitter was still wet. I love that main stamp - the bag of tulips. Here we have the front & back view of Joan's card. Such a nice clean & crisp design. Back & front view of Joanna's card Go

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you are having an enjoyable weekend. Yesterday Bob & I were at our grandson's first birthday party.  Wow! I think I am getting old - so many little children, so much excitement - really wore me out. The photos today are of Molds Show & Tell cards where the subject was "Something Fruity" - suggested by Mair. Janet used a pear stamp that she had, but couldn't remember who it is by.   The colouring is very realistic Janet Joan create this great card using a pineapple stamp. The only problem with this challenge was Joan didn't have a "fruit" stamp - so she made one. Here is Joans pineapple stamp. It is a die cut piece of foam mounted onto more foam. Well done Joan. Lynns fruit choice was a bowl of strawberries. When she showed it to us she said that she wasn't too happy with it - so made an orange one. Lynns "orange" card - I love people with a sense of

Good afternoon everyone. Last night I was at the Mold club meeting where I actually showed the evening's project.  I do hope the ladies enjoyed the project as once or twice I got a bit tongue tied with my instructions.  Just shows what not demonstrating for nearly a year can do to your brain. Joanna very kindly took the show & Tell and the Project photos - so I will probably have those for you over the weekend. We made the evening a little different & special as one of our ladies - Joan - was 80 during the week so Joanna brought some cakes & drink in & I took along a bouquet of flowers for her to add to her celebrations. My visit to the Oncologist was a bit of a let down as there was a slight problem with my blood test I had on Monday - my white blood cells were a little low, so she could not give me my next month's supply of hormone therapy tablets.  I have to go back next Thursday, have another blood test & see how things are then. Tomorrow we ar

...... that I received recently. Good afternoon everyone I hope you are having a nice day. Today I have managed to have quite a nice long session in my craft room.  I have 2 largish projects I am working on at the moment, & today managed to get some more ideas put together.  One project is nearly finished - well as far as it can go for being ready to be given, it then gets more work on it later after that. I will be able to show you this project in a week or two. The other project is well under way in its construction I now need to find the right photos to go in it & sort how I am going to lay them out. Anyway to the subject of this post - 2 surprise cards. This pretty card was a Thank You card from Claire of CSNW  for some stamps I had given her,  & Claire had also used the stamps to make the card. This cute card was from Betty who used to attend Mold II club. To see how I was & the message on the insert asked if I was enjoying this nice &qu

Good afternoon everyone. How many of you buy the many paper craft & stamping magazines that are in the shops?  How many of you enter those free prize draws they all feature? I do from time to time when ever there is something that appeals to me, & in the past I have won a couple of things. If you don't or haven't ever tried it, do have a go, you could be in for a surprise.  After all they are there for the taking - someone has to win them. Someone who takes that chance fairly now & again is Rita of Mold II club & she sent me an email with photos of one such sort of prize which she has recently won. Rita has won these two sets of dies. This photo show you the photos on the other side of the packaging. Enjoy your prize Rita. Now where did I put the latest issue of that magazine... there was something I fancied in it.  😀 That's me - 'bye for now.
