Mold II photos - part 1

Good afternoon everyone.

Well! where has the sunshine gone?  I believe its going to stay wet today & then be dryer for the next few days but not so much sunshine.  Shame.

Today I have the first set of photos from Tuesdays Mold II meeting & they are of their Show & Tell for the evening.  The theme was a tag using home found items as stamps and / or embellishments.

Here we go - uhmm, we did have a bit a laugh over some................................

Elizabeth made a tag card with some corrugated card as an embellishment & a tongue depressor with some brads on it (Elizabeth was a nurse) & other bits & pieces of twine.
The background pattern was made with the lid of her glue tube & the raised dots you can see are blobs of glue sprinkled with grit for texture.
I can't remember what the silver item is inside the little envelope - sorry.

It would appear that Sue & Carol crafted together on this one.
Sue's is the pink one & Carol's the blue one.
Yes, I know you can see that anyway from the name tags.

They both used a doilie - inking through it & adhering it to the tag.
They both had this little wreath (where the ribbon for hanging is) & both used it to stamp their background with.
Some sequin waste to decorate the stamped circles.
Then the little wreaths painted & decorated with feathery thread & attached to the top of the tag.
Two lovely tags with enough difference to be individual.

Annette's background was brayered, including a second pass with rubber bands around
the brayer to give texture.
Some bubble wrap was also used for the background & sequin waste stars.
The embellishments are all of a sewing theme including a packet of tiny buttons,
a card with thread around it & a needle & safety pin.
Not forgetting the mannequin die cut.

Elma made two tags.

The one on the left has a cherry theme & the bowl of cherries is made from some beads
with little strips added to create the stems &
they have been set in a bowl that was one of those little metal tea light holder.
All painted red.  Very clever.

The one on the right is the one that caused the hilarity for the evening.
It's focal point is a beautiful mandala style flower - there are several layers to it in lovely colours.  The flowers were created from an item Elma found in her bits bag which she painted in those gorgeous colours & then die cut.
At first Elma was reluctant to tell us what the found item was but Annette reminded her that she had started telling us that she was not sure she had met the brief.
That was the clue.
Elma had cut up & painted some Sloggies!
Yes - knickers have finally met card making.

There was much laughter & discussion about everyone saving the pretty lace from such
undergarments. After all we crafters do not waste anything.

We were all in hysterics for ages & some of the ladies wondered how I was going to explain it. I hope I have done OK.

It was a lovely start to a most pleasant evening - thank you ladies for cheering me up

More photos from the evening tomorrow.
'Bye for now..
