some canvases

Good morning ladies

I hope you don't mind but I am going to steal a little part of your blog to once again show you some work done by my Garden Centre workshop group.  Three ladies who started coming along to learn rubber stamping but got interested in learning & trying other things as well.

Yesterday morning I held a mini canvas workshop with them.  After a little discussion they decided they would like to produce a canvas "on the lighter side" - that is - colours. A while back they had tried the mixed media card with its darker colours.

We used a small (5" x 7") canvas board & after explaining the basics of the various medias to be used & treatment of the canvas they started thinking about design & what they would use.

Here is the result;

This last one - After adding various colours to her elements, the lady decided she didn't like how it had turned out at that stage.  So I suggested she covered it again in white Gesso which will allow her to add colour or colours she will be happier with.  I know for sure that at the next workshop we have she will bring it along for me to see.

Whilst explaining things to them I also worked a canvas - totally different to all I had done before. I just have a finishing touch I want to give it - then I will photograph it & show it to you.

Right - time to get off to the Stamp Festival.  I don't want a lot, don't need a lot either ............. but we will see what happens.

Enjoy the festival if you are going & have a great weekend.

'Bye for now.
